JACOB AKANA

Jacob Akana is a Musician and Producer from Northern California.

He was first introduced to music in the 4th grade where he learned to play violin from Sheri Eby. Akana began performing live at the age of 11 with the California State Old Time Fiddlers Association (C.S.O.T.F.A) at open mics and small concerts around his home town.

In the years following, Akana would teach himself to play guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, piano and ukulele, in addition to learning how to setup and run live sound, from his longtime friend, fellow musician and mentor, Tom Spence. Akana went on to become a 4x State Flatpicking Champion and a 3x Western Open Flatpicking Champion. As well as serve as the CSOTFA District 6 Board President from 2019-2023.

DANIEL HILL

Daniel Hill is a full time artist, actor and musician in Downtown Redding, CA.

Daniel grew up playing music in Trinity County, received his bachelors in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley, and currently plays guitar and sings for The Jacob Akana Band.

You can find Daniel performing around town in his solo act, as the drummer for local band Omnificent, on stage for The Rocky Horror Show LIVE at Axiom or on his podcast, “The Redding Sound” which you can find on YouTube!

DAN IWASAKI

Daniel Iwasaki was first introduced to music at the early age of 11, learning to read and play drums in an orchestral band setting until the end of high school.

He soon added 4 years of drumline to his repertoire, performing with all marching drum instruments in that time span. In early 2019, Dan formed the rock band ‘Self Doubt’, who has professionally recorded two albums and performed around Redding, the Bay Area, Salt Lake City, and Bosie. He joined forces with musician Jacob Akana through mutual projects and holds the back beat on the drums.
